Springboard+ HCI Pillar 1 Courses
Human Capital Initiative (HCI) Pillar 1 offers incentivised places for graduates to reskill in areas of skills shortage and emerging technologies e.g. ICT, High End Manufacturing, Data Analytics, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, via graduate conversion courses. The HCI Pillar 1 funding will provide funding for full-time graduate conversion courses. Courses at level 8 Higher Diploma and level 9 Postgraduate Diploma on the National Qualifications Framework will be funded under this Pillar.
Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF programme for employability, inclusion and learning 2014-2020. Springboard+ in 2021 continues to have a dual focus of upskilling and reskilling people who remain out of the workforce and on upskilling those in employment. Springboard+ offers part-time and intensive conversion courses in higher education from certificate, to degree, to postgraduate level. See www.springboardcourses.ie for full details.
Human Capital Initiative Pillar 1 is funded by the National Training Fund. A 10% course fee contribution (€600) for graduate conversion courses is applicable for employed participants and recent graduates.
At the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics our Springboard+ Postgraduate Certificate in Cybersecurity for Business is 1 year part-time fully funded for unemployed applicants and those who are employed will be required to pay 10% of the course fee which is €450.
The formerly self-employed not in receipt of a DEASP payment must also pay 10%. This is payable directly to the provider.
There are no tuition fees for DEASP applicants or Returners but any subsequent costs such as travel, and course materials must be borne by the participant.
