Anita O'Halloran

Anita is a PhD candidate in Law at University of Galway’s School of Law. Her doctoral research examines the justice system’s response to domestic violence, with a particular focus on intimate partner abuse and the enforcement of Domestic Violence Orders (DVOs). She holds a First-Class Honours LLM (2024) and a Second Class Honours, Upper Division LLB (2023), both from University of Galway. During her studies, Anita has worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in both Administrative Law and Land Law. She also represented University of Galway in the Maynooth University National Moot Court Competition.

Research Topic: 'Safeguarding Women: A Critical Analysis of Domestic Violence Orders and the Justice System since the Introduction of the Domestic Violence Act.'
